On another note I just upgraded to Ubuntu “Edgy Eft” Beta and so far it’s working great. The upgrade went smoothly and there were no hassles. So far it has fixed my problem with inserted CD-ROMs not being mounted properly. I’ll try and give a review when it hits final release.

I have just uploaded some of the photos we took on the trip to the U.S. This is just a first set, there are alot of images to sort through and post-manipulate. This first set is from Gene’s and Donna’s house, where we stayed for the most part, and some from the boating trip we took with Brad and Carol on Lake Minnetonka. You can view them here.

“The Adobe Photoshop CS book for Digital Photographers” (ISBN 91-636-0823-5) for my birthday and I must say that it really is the cats pyjamas. It is different from every other book on Photoshop(or other digital image handling software) I’ve read/skimmed through. It differs in that it doesn’t explain all the nifty function and filters and whatnot Photoshop incorporates. It teaches you how to use them instead. It gives hands on guidance to the most sought after methods in a really comprehensible way.

If you ever have had the feeling that ‘the man’ has conspired against you because your photographs never seems to have that ‘glow’ seen in almost every other catalogue / website this book has the answer for you. You forgot to run the picture through post-production. So, buy this book now and go do that!
